If it feels good, I find myself with the medium. The next size up might be too vague and defeat the purpose.
Note that different brands will of the sport, often a little different, so you may have to try some of the brand, the best to find you more comfort.
You should size up. The last thing you want is an athlete who will contract the blood flow to his "vital" organs.
If it feels good, then okay. Contraction and not at all. The number is probably greater than too loose around the waist.
